you've got dirty laundry (but we don't)

Last night we decided to get up early (around 7:00 am) today to do laundry and get a head start on the day. Several bottles of wine can ruin the best laid plans, however, and we ended up rolling out of bed around 9:00 am.

We went to the dining room for our complimentary breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the spread. A typical european breakfast usually consists of a croissant and a cup of coffee, but the buffet here was packed with goodies. There were a variety of meats, cheeses, and paninis, as well as several kinds of cakes and pastries. There was also orange juice which was okay but not as good as I would have expected after the oranges we ate yesterday.

After breakfast we did a couple loads of laundry. While we waited on the washer, we played a game of chess on the veranda and walked around the grounds to snap a few shots with our film cameras. We dried our clothes on the terrace above the laundry room (pictured above). After we hung the second load out to dry we headed in to town. Just arrived here about 1/2 hour ago, and plan to spend the next few hours exploring the city.

P.S. - Joey has asked me to mention that after I totally annihilated him in chess the other day (one without losing a single piece), he has gone on an unprecedented 4 game winning streak. Should note, however, that even with his current "lucky" streak, I'm still ahead 9-6-2 for the series.
